Health and Safety Myths Exposed - Safety is Killing Us!

We have been hearing a whole lot of statements out there all going along the lines of "Health and Safety bans..."
Apparently health and safety is banning a lot of things but is it true, does Health and Safety ban things or does it need to ban things.

All of these statements are safety myths and we want to bust or confirm them so you can know the truth behind them. Check out the video below.

So Health and Safety is just covering your boss's butt to keep him compliant.
Health and Safety bans all vehicles from a Christmas parade, so you have to walk.
Health and safety forbids lolly scrambles at kids parties.
H
ealth and safety bans step ladders in offices.
Customers not allowed coffee with a child's meal deal for health and safety reasons?

Health and safety is just common sense. We don't need any health and safety rules.

They are just some of the myths that we have been hearing, and we think they can get a bit ridiculous. So we are going to investigate them, talk to Work Safe and ACC and fins out the truth.

Is health and safety really banning these things or is it just stupid people making stupid rules?

But we can't do it all by ourselves, we know there are a whole lot more myths out there. We want you to email the ones you have heard or thought about to busted@peoplesafe.co.nz and if we feature your myth on Workshop Wednesday you will get a PeopleSafe Prize Pack!

So leave us a comment on our Facebook, give us a tweet @PeopleSafe_HQ, or send your emails in to busted@peoplesafe.co.nz
